Utility trade gun. Perhaps a pretty nice one, but still a trade gun.

Have to agree with Nord. Pride of Spain is not a manufacturers name as far as I can tell, thus it is likely a utility shotgun manufactured by an unknown, though possibly quite decent maker for sale under that name by someone else.

The 'Pride of Spain' shotguns were imported by Sloan's. Decent examples of a utility-grade Spanish double, they are selling in the $250 range now.

Interesting markings, though. Apparently the Spaniards didn't realize that "POS" (which should be marked on your barrels) has a different connotation in the States...

Finally I found some information on my POS.
Guess I paid too much at $500, seems this well built and nicly detailed 10 ga side by side would be worth that kind of money.
Mine is also stamped "SlOAN S.S.G. RDGFLD CT"

Are these guns still available?

How bad off am I spending $500?

You like the gun, you intend to use the gun, you paid $500.00. That's what it's worth... To you. Don't worry over a couple hundred dollars, just don't try to peddle the gun and expect a big profit.
