I would like to know if anyone that has shot this gun how accurate is it and what kind of trigger pull it has? I'm looking for a .223 for prarie dogs out to about 100 yards. Thanks.

I had one(SB2)with a 223 and 243 barrel setup. Both had the same mod scope mounted. Trigger pull was in the med. to heavy range (6 to 9 #) They are fun to shoot and accuracy was fair to good(2 to 2 1/2" @ 100yd) H&R guarentees that they will shoot a 3" group at 100 yds. biggest problem with the Handi is the extractor/ejector, Handi's made prior to this year had a spring loaded ext/ejec. and they had a tendency to stick and the only way to clear was to use a rod from the muzzle end. the factory redesigned it to be a mechanical extractor only and it works. I sold it and replaced the 223 with a Savage mod.12V with the accu-trigger (5 shots/1 hole) and the 243 with a Remington 7600 243 (5 shots 1/2" group)

I have one in 223 and have shot everything from squirrels to white tails with no problems. There is a site that shows how to improve the trigger and I gave mine a trigger job which helped accuracy a great deal.

Entry level rifle that performs far out of its class. Accuracy of my Ultra has to be seen to be believed, given its cost. The extractor business is legitimate. One needs to carry a rod.
The trigger is atrocious. A bit of work helped mine.

Yes...there is more accurate, better rifles out there..for 3-4 times the cost.

What site? I'd like the link if you have it.
