I just bought this brand new rifle. I will be using this as a HOG Rifle. Most of my shots will be 100 yards max.

What type of brand/model of scope would you recommend for this rifle?

I need something better than the iron-sights it came with...

Thank you for your help!

almost anytning in the 1 3/4- 3 power ranger or a low x variable. figure on spending at least $80/100 for a 'decent' scope.

one of the better name brand scopes like leupold or burris in a 1.5 x 5 or a 2 x 7 , you could also go with a good reddot like a bushnell holosight or you could get the forward type scope mount and use a long eye relieve scope in a 2x or 4x or even a varible

great guys to buy from and good prices
you can get a burris fullfield II 1.75x5x20 for $219
or a
Leupold VX 1 in a 2x7x33 for $199

both are good scope for what you are wanting to do

Ghost ring sights or a Williams FP. I have an older Weaver 4XW on my 1894 for the past 30 yrs and have found no need for a higher power scope. My suggestions for a current model scope would be a Weaver Classic v3 or K3.

I've had a Burris Shortmag Scope in my sights(pun intended) for my 1894.

The 2-7x should be all it needs.

Leupold 2 to 7X or Nikon 2 to 7X. Both have a forgiving eye relief & are excellent quality. I have them on my 458 Win Mag, 375 H & H & Marlin Camp Gun in 45/70. They cost about $150.00 or so, excellent value.
