When as a kid I went into the Gun shop it was the Jack First had in Lancaster. Not sure how much rust I caused in his shop from all of the drool. But it must have been a lot. When I think of a place to buy guns, the memory of his shop leads me to the local guys.
Just found he is still in business, sort of his daughter now runs it. I would have went to Highschool with her.

Me too. Yep, Sierra Highway.
I have a 1917 civilian Colt's Government Model 1911, and I want to get a COLT-marked barrel for it. So naturally I called Colt. They said I had to get it from one of their distributors and gave me Jack First's number. I called and placed the order, but received a post card the other day saying the barrel isn't available from the factory.
Per his web site left Lancaster in 94, which is funny cause the last time I was there was Feb Of 94. But in all reality I left in 74 when I joined the Marines.
