That is what the ABC female reporter said the Navy Seals used to make the shots off of the fantail of the USS Bainbridge to kill the pirates. She compared them to the gyroscopic stabalized turret of the M1 Abrams tank.

O' wise GB Forum, what say ye? True or Bullsnot?

At 30yards?

I think that someone is dreaming or maybe halucinating.

A good example of a bad example

If I was the point person for the media, I would have told them that it was a sattelite guided bullet fired from a special advanced handgun fired from a base in Hawaii. The media are dumb enough to believe anything.

The military was working on this many years ago.

Would not surprise me at all.

I never have heard of a gyroscopic stabilized sniper rifle.
But, I suppose it would be possible to make one.

It's new to me! Never heard of it before. Would like to know more about it and if we can get it at the local Wallyworld store?

Horse droppings, the media got their leg pulled. At 30 yards any of my jr. smallbore shooters could score a DC on them. Dave

Ummm...

In case any of you have forgotten, we've been using gyroscopically stabilized firearms for a very long time. We refer to them as RIFLES.

My guess is that someone in the military was playing "Bait the Morons" and is rolling on the floor with uncontrolled laughter.

Probably a gyro mount that the rifle would affix to. Might just be good for use out of aircraft, as well.

My guess.

Ship was evidently towing them, in darkness, in heavy seas.

Nothing to detract from the shooters, but I figure technology was probably there as well, if there were only three simultaneous shots taken.

Successfully.

Maybe the reporter meant to refer about gyro stabilized optics in the rifle.

Gyro stabilized binoculars have been around for several years now.

How do you think I got this here grey hair of mine, junior?

I’m still trying to digest the reports that they shot “from the water”.
