I was just reading Newsmax and saw an ad for First Liberty Bank. They are selling 250,000 Iraqi Dinars for $369.00 U.S. They claim that if one Dinar increases to equal one U.S. penny, a million Dinars would equal $10,000 U.S. I believe Iraq is the second largest oil producer in the world and if their economy continues to improve this may be a good investment. I haven't done any further research yet. Just was wondering what some of you guys think about this?

The ONLY currency that I would invest in would be gold or silver--your money your decision but to me buying up Iraqi paper seems like an exercise in foolishness especially since that region is still volatile.

My information tells me that you can buy 250,000 Iraqi Dinars for around $220. The $369 figure comes from total fabrication by the bank to make a fast profit.

I know soldiers who were buying up Iraqi currency years ago. It's probably a very smart move considering the fact that we may very well be in the last days...and what the Bible has to say about what is to come.

Without any religious BS hype, claims, prophesy's or such, only invest what you can afford to loose. One poster is correct about 250k dinars for $220US. Beware however that it has been discussed I have read that the Iraqi Dinar will be declared obsolete in favor of a new monetary method. This talk was several years ago, so it may be just that. Tread lightly, know your investment history to make wise investments. Best of Luck.

I second the Gold and silver. I believe these things will only continue to rise. That and firearms. They will go back up again very soon. As long as you are willing able and ready to sell at the right time.

I am just investing in lead. If it looses value it is because I shot it.

My late dad brought back millions of marks from WW-2. Good for decorative purposes only now.
