I have a part that goes over the M1A flash hider ( pre 94 style) It has holes in it. When You put it on , it looks like a muzzle break. What is the name of this part?

It is a compensator, originally developed for the M15 (the heavy barreled variation of the M14) and saw limited use with the M14A1, which was a sort of squad automatic version of the M14 with a pistol grip stock.

I believe that the name of the part is "stabilizer assembly".

I have a couple of them.
One is mounted on my selectfire Winchester M14 w E2 stock and USGI bipod. This is my SAW clone.

The other is on a Chinese M14 clone that I use for offhand slowfire matches.

They do help with barrel rise.
