Looks like I just keep finding firearms at my father-in-law's home. Guess that happens when the family has been in the same house since 1848!

This one is a Savage Arms Springfield Model 234 .22 rifle. It's a bolt action, clip fed rifle that he used regularly for varmints around the barn. Bolt is blued like barrel. Stock needs refinishing, a few spots of rust on the top of the barrel, s/n B375698.

Don't know anything specific about the rifle. That said, Savage guns that were sold under the Springfield name were economy models usually sold by local hardware stores and large merchandisers. Nothing wrong with them but the fitting, finish, stock wood wasn't of the same quality that were sold under the Savage name. With a bolt action .22 your probably looking at between $50 & $150, money wise, depending on functionally and cosmetics.
