Czechoslovakia was behind the "Iron Curtain" between the late 40's and early 90's. This prevented their commercial firearms having easy access to the U.S. If you really wanted one it was possible to get your hands on one, for way more money than a comparable U.S. made rifle.

To make a long story short, if you want a original 21 it's going to cost you big bucks. To buy a used one here in the U.S. You might consider contacting gun dealers/gun stores in Canada. The Brno made rifles didn't have the legal problems being imported there, as in the States. Probably more used ones available?

EDIT #1, You might have better luck finding one by searching using the name, "ZKK-600". This seems to be the most commonly used name, here in the States.

You don't see them for sale often, because the guys that own them don't want to rid of them. Expect to pay $2K plus.
Google "BRNO MODEL 21H" and you'll find a few for sale.

There are two on GB right now. Seem very resonable. Both in decent calibers.
Can I ever find one in more common caliber? Like 30-06

The inletting on the Brno 21 and 22 wasn't very good. I've found many with cracked stocks about the tang and inside rear of the magazine well. The bolt handles are sometimes bubba-gunsmithed to clear the scope's ocular bell. Also, the scope mounts usually weren't readily available and you'll see where the square bridged ones were drilled and tapped for Weaver style mounts. So it is difficult to get one in very good original condition. Thus, you end up paying more than what I think they are worth.
