What's the web address for Mossberg? I want to get a steel-shot barrel for a Mossberg model 300c semi-auto in 20 ga. These were sold by Sears in the 70's and I don't see many listed for sale. -orca

Mossberg does not make a barrel for that shotgun - its a Winchester. Specifically the Model 1400.

CountryGunsmith- Even with Mossberg stamped on the reciever it's a Winchester? I'll show you what a rookie I am by saying I didn't know Win. made the for Mossberg line! Should I cross-reference the new bbl. to the Serial No. on the reciever? -orca |

1) The Sears Model 300 is the Winchester Model 1400. 2) The Mossberg semiauto shotguns were the Model 712 (1986-88 in 12ga only), Model 1000 (made by Howa, imported by Mossberg 1986-87 but certainly not private-labeled to Sears), Model 5500 (1989-92, again in 12ga only), Model 6000 (1993 only, 12ga only), Model 9200 (began in 1992, again 12ga only).
Mossberg did not make a semiautomatic 20ga shotgun for Sears. In fact, I am having trouble coming up with ANY Mossberg pump or semiauto shotgun ever private-labeled for Sears. The Sears pump shotguns all seem to be Savage, High Standard or Winchester. Plenty of Mossberg Model 500 pumps for Western Auto, but not Sears. Mossberg did not produce nor import a semiautomatic shotgun in the 1970's.
I would certainly like to see pictures of that receiver...

CountryGunsmith I re-checked the receiver and you're right, there's no Mossberg. Must have gotten some bad whisky. the serial no. is Q78236. Thanks for the help |
