I have a Mossberg 500 tactical #54125 and wondering if anyone knows the thread size of the hole in the takedown magazine cap. I want to put a sling stud on it. Thanks in advance.

Edit: thanks all, ordered a 10-32 stud this morning.

Enemies of armed self defense focus on the gun. They ignore the person protected with that gun.

No clue if or what the cap is tapped for, but there isn't a lot of choices for the stud thread size. Uncle Mike's 10-32. Remington sold a cap that had the sling stud so it could swivel and never unscrew. I would copy that idea by having a clearance hole in the cap and red Loctite the nut(s) to the stud.

Or maybe this could work for you

Try 10 x 32. That's pretty common for studs.

Concur with BT99. Just installed a set on a Mossberg last week.
