want usually outweighs need, then later I have changed my mind, still if its a good price, it makes good trading stock for later........

Umm...

Most of my guns fit that category...

And I tended to aquire in 3's...

I do not need 3 Japanese type 99 arisaka bolt action rifles really.

Those are nice rifles.

I have an Old SSG 69 in 308. Its the real old model with the double triggers and the green stock. I have a 6x Kahales scope on it and 4 extra mags.

Great shooting gun but my Rem 700 PSS 5R and my AI both with nightforce scopes put it to shame.

But

If I had to have an all around bolt gun in combat I would grab up that old SSG in a heartbeat.

I would say 90% of the guns I have I don't need

No, that would tie up funds that would be better spent generating income.

I'm mean who really needs a Siamese Mauser or murata rifle or nambu pistol....

An than there is always that .14 Donaldson wasp

And if it was about need versus want 84bravo would stop buying guns and put ricci and Kasey out of business.

So you scored a deal Brother. Hold onto it for a year or two, shoot it, enjoy it, then re-sell it for a profit. Win -Win.

First was a Browning Buckmark (when they were first introduced) for $100.

2nd was a National Match rebuild that my nephew couldn't live w/o and needed me to act as his agent since he was overseas.

The NM was a nice deal but the nephew changed his mind and now I'm 'stuck' with a Colt framed NM. Bummer

I saw one today that I can't imagine any possible use for but I couldn't resist the price. A used .22 L.R. STG44 for $200 was listed on a local store's website. I think I am happy that it was gone by the time I got there.

Not to long ago my neighbor passed away and his widow came over after the funeral. She and my wife were friends so she knew I had a few firearms. She asked me if I would buy all of her deceased husbands guns and hunting stuff. I told her that I would help her sell it but she wanted the money asap. I really didnít want or need anything he had but when she gave me a price for everything that he had I couldnít turn it down. I told her that she could get much more for his stuff selling it off piece by piece but it didnít matter to her what she got so we made the deal. Now I have some trade material for stuff I do want, so my answer is yes.

Most guns I have bought I didn't "need" . Most I wanted, but some I bought simply because they were to cheap to pass up.

I've needed every gun I have. I haven't wanted to need every one of them, but I have needed every one.

I feel this is a "Gun Shaming" post, and makes me feel uneasy about my wanting & needing to obtaining firearms...

But what about shaming glocksuckers and .40 s&w owners and those who shoot the two for three...

I thought we had agreed that that was OK.

I have literally filled the largest widebody safe that Cannon makes with guns that I really don't "need".

The one I do need I carry daily, and the other two that are a bit less "needed" are in a lockbox in my closet for easier access.

This certainly doesn't imply that I have all that I "want", however..

I am not ashamed at one time I had over 400 guns from people twisting my arms to buy them in the last 30+ years. AND, a lot were now in the last 5 years very collectable and sold them HERE, for tuition for my son and daughter ..Help a BUNCH to take care of tuition and paid out much, much better than any bank.

A deal to me is buying something you can sell for more money,, or in your case keep the better of the two and sell the other.

Keeping it means you bought it because you THOUGHT it wa a good dead,, it wasn't such a hot deal, so sell, keeping the best of the two.

There lots of reasons to buy a gun you don't want or need, dealers do it everyday.

Too many. Last one was a Ruger 10-22 , with a mannlicher stock. Sold it within a week Bought it on a whim. Also, my AR-15 S&W, which I really didn't want. but was talked into. Oh, you will love it. Blast to shoot. Gave it to my son after shooting it one time. I will stick to my lever action and bolt action rifles. Worthless gun for me. Oak
