I never saw one of his shows in SE Asia as they were always just before or just after I arrived/departed a base or camp .

The government has no rights. Only the PEOPLE have rights that empower the government.

This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or exercise their revolutionary right to overthrow it.
Abraham Lincoln

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It is they way it is. The way we cope with it, is what makes the difference.

I was in the MP's and had back stage security duty (really tough) and met Ann Margaret and Penny Plummer (Miss World). The show was great! After the show a buddy and I jogged out the front gate of the 3rd MP Bn. and down to Dog Patch (or Petticoat Junction, can't remember which was closest to our compound). The CO let us jog off base until somebody got shot in the butt. Word was he was impressed by how many Marines were into physical fitness, not realizing where we were going and why....

I have a SKS that was presented to Bob Hope the following year. I was able to get it at his estate auction.
