I feel your pain.

I have to go down there when I visit my Dad.

The traffic is soul crushing.

I'd rather drive through Atlanta than wait in the line that's gonna form to give you an asswhuppin

If you are ever at the truck stop in Ellisville (Columbia County) Florida --- let me know. I am too old to do any azz-whooping but I will spring for a meal. Best Regards - AQH

You've got that right, pulled my camper through Hotlanta last month on I75 (on a Sunday no less) and it took two and a half hours, seemed like ten.

Lonnie, if you are using I-22 thru Ala, I'm near exit 63. Would like to buy lunch at exit 65 Cracker barrel. Also a Love truck stop at exit 65.

Where's the end of the line? Hopefully it's NOT in Hotlanta.

Have you made it to O-town yet Lonnie?

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"

Stop by when you come through CO; you can go a few rounds with Jack.

Then at least you'll have sumthin' to do in ATL...figurin' out where all the pieces go.

I didn't think the traffic in Atlanta was bad, but those 6-8 lane parking lots built around the city can get tedious.

I try to avoid coming to this side of I-35 but the money to come over here was good but I知 losing my ass going back. I知 going to PA right now then a two stopper in Billings and Twin Falls for about $1500 less than I came straight over to Florida for.

Unless you have a contract with regular freight coming out of Fla, my company tried to keep us out of Fla.
Fla. imports 90 % of what they use and other than vegetables and juice, they produce little to ship out.

It's all about supply and demand.Scads of freight going in and little coming out so if drivers can get an outbound load from Fla. that will pay their fuel bill and feed them, they jump on it.

Often as not when we delivered in Fla. we simply deadheaded back up to Atlanta or even North Ga. rather than sit around a day or two trying to find a broker load that didn't pay crap.

Hopefully loads are better now for outbound Fla truckers than when I retired 12 or so years ago.

There is a pleasure in being mad which none but madmen know.

I was checking out the loadboard yesterday and found this one loading out of Daytona Beach going to Bethel PA paying $1.40 a mile, called the broker and took it and my deadhead was only 80 miles. Then with the same broker I booked a load out of PA with two drops, Billings and Twin Falls paying $1.90 per mile. I love being on my own, booking loads is a challenge but I値l never go back to being dispatched, my truck goes where I want it to go, not where some dispatcher sends me.
