And the moochers are howling.....

http://www.wsaz.com/content/news/Ky-becomes-first-state-requring-many-Medicaid-recipients-to-work-to-get-coverage-469027843.html

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- Kentucky has become the first state to win approval from the Trump administration requiring many of its Medicaid recipients to work to receive coverage.
The Trump administration gave the approval Friday.
People between the ages of 19 and 64 must complete 80 hours per month of "community engagement" to keep their benefits. That includes getting a job, going to school, taking a job training course and community service.
Republican Gov. Matt Bevin says the plan will save state taxpayers more than $300 million over the next five years. He also estimates about 95,000 people will lose their Medicaid coverage either by not complying with the work and community engagement requirements or by losing their eligibility because they make too much money.

How do you get Medicaid if you’re able to work?

But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

simply apply for it, it's given, and NO ONE checks on it

Obama loosened the requirements significantly.

I don't have a problem with that. I am sure there are ways around it for severely disabled people.

Good job KY!

I found the application process quite lengthy

Had to produce bank statements and passport and drivers license and w2's and doctors notes and medical history and social security number and proof from 3 doctors stating I could not work and the reasons why

The social workers in the financial charity care office were very helpful in completing the reams of application paperwork

At least that was my experience

Had to deal with the NJ department of social welfare as well

As I understand it only requires able bodied folks to work/volunteer, those who can not work due to a disability will still be covered.

In Illinois, they will walk you through it. I know a couple people who work with that crap. And yes, MANY are very capable of doing work but refuse.
