We Don’t Know Them All But We Owe Them All

I was thinking about the lack of Patriotism in this younger generation...

They must not have been taught from the old worn book of poetry like I was, or known the heart ache of what MIA really means... Maybe they weren't taken to the Vietnam wall to see thousands of names. They certainly weren't taught of the Patriotism and Valor of both sides in the War Between the State's, do they know of the thousands who enlisted because of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 ? Have they seen in there minds eye Ralph Waldo Emerson's A Concord Hymn? Can they still hear the echo of the shot that was heard around the world? Can they hear the great poet, "Be not like dumb driven cattle but be a Hero in the strife"

Lastly can they hear a Chaplain by memory resighting over a newly dug grave The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want, he makes me to lie down in green pastures....

In Flanders fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses, row on row,

We are the Dead. Short days ago

Yes, we owe them lots, But the biggest debt we owe them it to restore our once great nation.

As much as I dislike her,,,

We are one upping each other with hate and bad wishes. Someone will get in trouble here and it's not worth it.

They're such good boys. Always so helpful.

Donna, Chris and I went to the gun range today. I think this is the first time we all shot together in many years. We took the 22 rifles, AR 15 and my 38-55. Of course my son out shot us. I wanted to try my handloads for the 38-55. I made the cases out of 30-30 brass and made the lead bullets. It was pretty accurate at 100 yards. Not great, but not bad either. Enough to kill a deer. Donna did an excellent job with it, as well as the AR. For me, It was just great to spend time with the family, and see both of them smiling and having a little competition between mom and son. These are the days that will be memories for a lifetime. We are all so busy, that we never have the time to spend together. This was my son's and wife's idea, so that made it even more special to me. Oakie.

Anything I'd add at this point would just be redundant after the above posts so I'm just gonna sit here and not say a thing 'cause to do so would just be a waste of time and bandwidth and nobody wants that...
