Elderly woman kills copperhead snakes

A 72-year-old Oklahoma woman refused to let more than a dozen copperhead snakes slither under her home unchecked Friday, using a shotgun, shovel and rake handle to crush and blast the critters to death.

The woman, identified only as Mrs. Newby, was dubbed the "snake killer" after she was spotted with 11 dead reptiles on the ground, neighbor Susan Thompson wrote in a Facebook post.

    Yeah Poisonous snakes don't belong in or under a house

    I don't go out of my way looking to kill a snake but.....
    Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

    Did you know that according to Tennessee state law, it illegal to kill any kind of snake?

    I'm with you I 'LL HELP SEND HER TO Washingto DC, I'll even chip in a couple of boxes of buck shot. There's enough snakes to keep her busy a couple of nights.

    That makes little sense to me. Snakes are not social, so aggregations occur only in the temperate zone at places where snakes hibernate. We are not talking Maine here, so it is not near time for them to hibernate.

    I conclude there are 11,842,416 mice under her house and she just murdered her best friends.
