I have a Rifle Dilemma

I have some money left over from my recent move and have the wife's approval to buy a new gun. Should I?

A: Buy the cool FAL from Enterprise Arms for $599.99

B: Buy a CETME and an AK for $300.00 each.

You helpfull suggestions will be appreciated.

    I vote for B.

Sure....quality over quantity is always nice, however, I don't think you would be disappointed in a Cetme or an AK.

I feel your pain. Everytime I think I have all the guns I could ever want or need I find out something new that I feel I must have. I think by the time I die I will own one of every caliber gun ever made! Back to your question. I would go with the two guns for $300.00. More is better!!!

As regards guns, I think the term clone is too loosely used. The current market FALs and CETMEs are not clones; they are replicas. And as with all replicas, any similarity between them and the originals stops at appearance. To answer your question, neither A nor B. I would instead bank the $600 and save the additional whatever for a real FAL. A replica will never be worth more than the day you got it; an original will never be worth less (even if the current AWB sunsets--which, of course, it won't).

If it were me, I'd get the more expensive one... I have an easier time saving the money for the cheaper ones later (they can be bought one at a time). If my gun money sits too long it starts burning a hole in my pocket. [V]

I wouldn't bother with the Enterprise Fal. I lucked out and got one of CAI's older one's on auction that had an Imbel reciever on a Belgium made gun.Too many now have the touted USA made reciever which is a piece of junk. If you buy an Austrian kit and an Imbel reciever you can use a USA made stock and trigger group and one other non critical component and have a nice rifle. The Cetmes are junk for the most part though I've heard some people get lucky.
Buy two AKs and shoot one and save the other un-fired.

I wished I had your problem[:D]Do not worry if you make the wrong decision, save some more money and correct it and buy some more guns.

Buy the AK-47 and use the $300 left over to take your wife out for a good time, her choosing.

I don't really see the dilemma... two really good rifles, or one great one.
The dilemma is in not having another $600. [:D]

You get what you pay for ... for that reason I don't see A or B as options

I'd highly reccomend you go with option D ... as in the "DancesWithSheep" option [^]
