    That cat was in poor shape. I wonder what was wrong with it.

    We are being overran with cats. They changed the hunting regs and now fewer are being taken. Lots more being seen even in the parks in town.

    About ten years ago the hunting of cats and bears with dogs or bait was banned in Washington as being unethical. So now all those hyperethical residents of King county are reaping the results of a few generations of animals that have been losing the genetic fear of people. On the fringes of suburbia it's noticed in the loss of pets and the occasional small child.
