Pick-up truck or Thompson?

Was going to go buy a new truck today but got laid up with a bad case of food poisoning. Been trying to get over it for two days and I am just now starting to feel human, again.
Anyway, I put $16,000 into my "special funds" checking account in anticipation of buying the truck and while home sick the last two days I started perusing gun ads. I found a beautiful 1927 Thompson, still in it's original box, with two box magazines and one drum for $13,500.
Hmmm... Truck... Thompson... Truck... Thompson...
This is why my wife doesn't tell me how much money we have or let me keep large sums of cash on hand.

see? now it's just self preservation. What other reason do you need?
Ben
...yeah,...and you can't shoot your truck...[:D]
You can save up for a new truck after that.
I can get you a deal on a Dodge or Chrysler product if you want.
If we are talking about a machinegun.
The Thompson will apprecate, the pickup wont.
Thats a good price too!
The Thompson should apprecate at least 10-20% per year or more, and damm sure wont go down in price.

PS-Take the bus its cheaper!!!
[;)][;)][;)][;)]
WH Thompson=$14,400
Mod 1921 95%=$31,000
Mod 28/21 Shooter 90%=$15,000
Mod 21 Collector grade=$40,000
"Good looking, busty chicks dig them"
But I would adivise using "For all legal purposes" or "Collector"
Either way it wont matter what you put.
The transfer once you submit all the paperwork, should be around 90 days.

...yeah,...and you can't shoot your truck...[:D]
Sure he can ... he's got other guns [:o)]
? otherwise, you'll find an excuse.
The Thompson will appreciate the truck will not
And you will appreciate the Thompson!![;)][:p][:D]
but if this is a FA Tommy gun,..$#!+ why are you asking use?,.. i woulda bought the dang thing already.
i had a Auto Ord. 1927 Tompson,... had a violin case and everything,...i wish i would have hung on to it,...very nice even though it was a SA.
How many people have the chance to buy a Thompson? a truck?
Yeah, but I can't drive the Thompson to work and I doubt if anyone will stop to give me a lift if I am holding it. [;)]
It's all in the stance
Get the Thompson. They make new trucks every year.
If for no other reason than this one, do it. But there are plenty of reasons.
Let's try this one...
If you have a Thompson, you can get a truck. It doesn't work the other way around. [;)]
The Thompson will appreciate the truck will not
Yup X2[:D].
Get the Thompson
But she is buying my a .22 conversion unit for my AR15 as a BD present.
Too old to live...too young to die...

[V]I can't help![V]
That truck will depreciate to nothing in 5 years, but that Thompson will just keep going up and up in value.
Logic, common sense (at least shooters common sense), money, everything leans to the Thompson...
quote:I told my wife what all of you said about how I should buy the Thompson. I'm getting the truck.
Probably just as well that you save a few more dollars and go buy yourself a set Saxon![}:)]
Using it every day, it is a little oasis in the fight to survive.
Toyota says it is going hydrid on all of it's vehicles, and although I am loath to buy foreign,
if it gives me 5+ extra m.p.g., I'd sure look at the small pickup truck.
