Bush has Saddam's pistol: report
From correspondents in Washington
May 30, 2004
US President George W Bush has been given a pistol Saddam Hussein had with him when he was captured and now proudly shows it to selected guests, Time magazine reported today.

The gun was taken from Saddam by US special forces when they caught the ousted president in a spider hole near his home town Tikrit last December, the report said.

The military had the pistol mounted, and it was presented to the president privately by some of the troops who ferreted out Saddam, Time said, citing unnamed sources.

Bush now takes select visitors to see the pistol in a small study next to the Oval Office, the magazine said.

"He really liked showing it off," the report quotes an unnamed recent visitor to the White House as saying. "He was really proud of it."

Though it was widely reported at the time that the pistol was loaded when US troops grabbed Saddam, Bush has told visitors that the gun was actually empty - and that it is still empty and safe to touch, Time pointed out.

    HAIRY,

Guess you and your liberal left decided that a sarin nerve gas filled bomb doen't count as a wmd????

Mig fighters that he saddam was NOT supposed to have.
Missles he was NOT supposed to have.

The fact that Kerry,Clinton(both),Gore,Kennedy,Daschle,Albright,Kofi (never saw a fight I wont duck)Anan, and most world leaders, agreed that saddam is a threat to the world and needed to go.

Funny how you wishy washy, hand wringers tell a different story now, because of an election.
Now you want to act like chicken little, and cry about the war. When your boy clinton was in you spoke differently.

That just proves that your type will say anything and DO anything to get into power, even if you will endanger this country in the process. Apparently power is more precious than the safety of this country. Apparently what you say means exactly nothing, since you will change what you say more than kerry during an election.

Funny how you people support a socialist gentleman like kerry and onager about someone with some intestinal fortitude. Someone who has done more in 2 years to pinch the terrorists than that scumbag clinton did in 8.

Remember, we were attacked 8 times before 9/11. Several while clinton was on watch. Oh, guess he just needed his knob polished some more and didn't have the time to devote to killing those who would kill us.

Why don't all the lefties go hold hands around a redwood and sing kumbaya in california.[B)]

It is about time that the silent majority stand up and start to step on the throats of those short sighted, socialist minded, doves who won't acknowledge the threat unti it is them who's throat is getting sawed into with a very dull knife.[xx(]

Muslims only respect strength and the liberals only know they want to be back in power. Even if they threaten all of of us.[:(!][:(!]

ArmaliteA4: You said: Quote: That just proves that your type will say anything and DO anything to get into power, even if you will endanger this country in the process. Apparently power is more precious than the safety of this country. Unquote. Doesn't this apply more to Our Leader and his cabal? After all, Our Leader has wasted more than 800 American Soldiers' lives "in the process." [:(][;)][}:)]

With reference to that artillery shell--US Government claims it was from stocks before the Gulf War. And guess who provided the means to produce the chemical weapons--give up--Uncle Sam. Haven't you seen the photo of Rumsfeld shaking hands with Saddam over a deal they made?

Yep, those darn liberals--preferring to save American lives and they don't even have imperalistic aims to run the world--what in *ell is wrong with them? [;)][}:)]

Hairy, it doesn't matter when the sarin gas was manufactured. What
counts is that Sadaam was not supposed to have it. Period.

    Hairy,
I would agree it is MORE important that he had it than WHEN it was produced. Besides, until it was found, one of Kerry'S favorite comments was..and I quote.."where's the weapons of mass destruction??" Now that we found the first one, he has suddenly clammed up..

Besides, Hairy you don't irritate me like most people who jump on you. I do think you are very biased, but I do not think you are an idiot. Only biased idiots really PI$$ me off.

You do need to talk to some of our newest VFW members, I have.

They do not think they are wasting their time OR lives.

They DO in fact get irritated when politicians use their cause to gain more applause from people. AND from types who dislike our current president and would try to skew the truth. I have read some of your posts and the writers you c&p have been know to "shade" the truth from time to time.

Makes me wonder if you have the same agenda they do, or is it to save us hawks from ourselves??

ArmaliteA4: Do you really mean to tell me that the United States of America invaded Iraq over an artillery shell? Granted, I have my biases, and according to some, I'm an idiot, but an artillery shell? Get real, please. [;)][}:)]

BTW, even Our Leader doesn't try to sell this piece of limburger cheese. [:D]

    Hairy,

Just try and remember what YOUR people were saying for 12 years.....

That is the biggest reason why we are there.

Saddam was a scumbag,,, he's history

Clinton was more intersted in playing with his interns and selling our best secrets to his buddy China..

If you are going to attack our president ,at LEAST do it where he deserves it..
NOT where he is doing his damndest to eliminate those who would kill us...that DOES include you and your pal, think about it

I supported Our Leader's reprisal on the Taliban/Al Qaeda and applauded when he publicly said he would find Osama.

However, instead of doing what he said he would do, he goes off and invades Iraq. Think about it--it was not a terrorist state threatening the US, it was contained by the effective policies of Bush the First (and continued by Clinton), and, as it turns out, Saddam had gotten rid of his WMD (refer to David Kay, the UN Inspector). Our Leader's propaganda (bringing democracy to Iraq, nation building, removing an evil regime) allowed him to prey upon the fear of the American populace. He was successful in getting to war; we, tho, are paying the price for it. [;)][}:)]
