Could someone recommend what type of scope would work good on a Ruger mini 30 ranch rifle.

These rifles aren't highly accurate. A red dot or a lower end scope (Simmons, BSA, etc) should be adequate. A fixed 4x would work well.

I agree with sundowner a fixed 4X would do well. My 2 cents [8D]
