I wished to respond to your last post in the "Do Americans owe service to their country?" thread, but didn't want it buried on page 3 with the Shakespearean recitals.
I am encouraged that you found ANYTHING of merit in my post there. I certainly understand, given our history, the difficulty in making such an admission, as I might surely throw myself on an upturned blade before giving you your due respect for your service to our country, and in Somalia. I am sincerely glad you made a safe return.
I was also honored to recieve mention in the same sentence as Salzo. While Salzo may well be horrified at any association, I usually find his posts to be among the most well informed and thought provoking on forum. Don't you?
As for my ideas on the middle east, I'm sorry to say there'll be blizzards at the gates of hades before I'll consider casting my lot with Arafat and his terrorist army. I hope we can just agree to disagree on that topic.
I make no apologies for any previous posts, I expect no apologies.
I feel I gave no better than I got and that's fine with me.
I don't visit this site to make friends or join clubs or add stars.
I come to voice my thoughts and read the thoughts of others.
Lastly, I read on another thread that we share a love for the "Little Women" in our lives. I know you've heard it before, but if you believe nothing else I say, believe me when I say that only yesterday, mine too were eight years old. Now they're all curves, legs and femininity, getting looks from the boys, and sadly, looking back. I guess the pain a father feels is small price to pay for such a blessing as little girls.
Cherish every moment Beach. I'm sorry to say, we can be the most important man in their lives for only a brief moment.
