Had the scope done. It was an interesting experience to say the least! No cancer, no strictures, nothing that requires immediate correction.

Good deal. Hope you feel better. One "scoping" was enough for me. If I can prevet it, I'll not have it done again.[;)]

First for me too, and I hope the last!

The monitor was where I could see it though, and it was interesting seeing my insides from inside.

    All right then![:0]
That's one I haven't had done, nor do I have any desire to have it in the future if possible.[xx(][:)]

    Glad all is well.

Yes, and the way in is the way you imagine, the most direct route!

I have been scoped from both ends. Not with the same scope. The drugs are good.

No drugs for this procedure, but I could have used a Valium. All the doc used was "numbing gel," and it worked up to a point, but once that point was reached, I picked a spot on the ceiling to focus on, and breathed in through the nose, out through the mouth, just as in Lamaze training.

They have used that numbing gel on me as well and I'll second the motion that it is a disappointment. I'm sure it is better than nothing but come on here people we put a man on the moon!

It worked on the initial insertion, but it apparently didn't get to the bladder sphincter, because getting through there was very uncomfortable. Without thinking, I said, "Please stop." Doc said, "I am in here now, and I really need to take a look around. This will only take a minute." He was right. He took a quick look and removed the scope.

I had bladder cancer nine years ago. I took BSG treatments for about two years and cystoscope twice a year since then. I don't look forword to the scope, but it's a small price to pay to see if you're still cancer free. I always described the procedure as taking a camera, nailing it on the end of a hedge post with a steering wheel attached and then procede. If I had all the tubes they have stuck in me sticking out of me I would look like a porcupine.

But you are all right, it does smart a little.[:D]
