KC Gun Show

Stopped on my travels for a couple of hours at the gunshow in KC last weekend. Supposed to be 500 tables, and I would guess 350. Seemed to be pretty lightly attended. When I started looking around I may have discovered why. Boy were those folks proud of those guns! Looked at some nice model 99's on a couple of tables and the prices ranged from $550-$895! They were nice, but not that nice. I thought I paid top dollar for mine a couple of years ago at $450, but I guess I will not be owning any more. Over all there was not much to see.

Was that the one at Blue Ridge Mall, the old Monkey Wards bldg?

I've heard they have had some good displays set up there with dealers from Iowa ... but as you said, very proud of their merchandise ... I haven't been to that location yet, but have been to the one over by the airport ... from what I've seen they have been typical Rooney shows, not bad but nothing to rave about either, 300-400 tables.

    BTW,
I think when they say 500 tables, thats how many are avaiable ... not necessarly how many are actually rented out ... of course too, that may have been how many had reservations, then didn't show ... who knows!

We have many gun shows here in Florida, every week somewhere,

Like you , I found that the people that take their wares to these functions, are mighty proud of their stuff, way out of line

Their stuff seems to be made of gold, and yours made of tin

I took a FOX premier grade side by side to a local show, saw one at a dealers booth and inquired as to what he wanted for it, 2000.00 was his reply. Honestly it was beat up with a cracked stock, So I showed him the one I had and ask what he would give for it and he nitpicked around the gun and said he would give me 200.00 , I had already hade my gun graded as excellent. WHAT A DORK

I knew it was going to be a bad day, when I saw weapons, such as Jennings, 175.00, Lorcin 225.00, and so on and so on.

It was the one at the almost folded Blue Ridge Mall. It actually might have been 500 tables, given that some of the dealers had 6 or 8 tables, but there certainly were not near that many total vendors. As I say they had some nice things, but when the local gunstores have those nice things for less money, why go to the gunshow? While I was there, there were not more than about 100 people strolling around. I would be used to 10 times that number, maybe the prices are why.
