Vegetable seeds germinated, now what??

OK, so I planted my vegetable seeds in the little greenhouse/seed starter kit that I bought last weekend. The heat and moisture inside has 1/2 the plants already germinated and 2" tall. They are hitting the platic lid they are so tall in 3 days time[:0][:D][8D]

do I leave them inside the kit waiting to plant?

will they stop reaching and simply grow more roots?

do I transplant into the little Peat cups until planting?

I don't want anything negative to happen, and since they are ready to outgrow the kit, I need to know where to move next?? It is still a little early to put them in the ground here.

The roots can only grow so much in those small cups. Give them another day or two, then move them to peat pots.

Extremely young plants have a hard time coping with the stress from transplanting. A couple more days should help them deal with it.

Pot them up into dixie cups, then in about 2 weeks pot them up again burying about 1" of the stem/stalk each time .On the third pot up ,put them in the ground, again, burying about another 1.5" of the stem.U'll see little nodes on the stems that will tell U how deep to bury the root ball.
That's how i always do with Tomatoes. and sweet or hot peppers.

Went on line and found source for Ghost Pepper Seed.

Placed an order and according to the ad, I would only

receive 12 seeds per order. The seed are expensive due

to the fact the pods have few seeds.

Well, the seeds came and to my surprise, there were 30 seed

    in the pack.[:)]

I planted them in peat containers and every seed came up.

If my luck holds,I'll have enough Ghost Pepper for everybody

    that wants some.[:D]

I have more than enough planting soil to transfer them. They are 4-5" tall, right now. Looks like the seeds are the way to go.[:)]

Justin, you need to keep the lights as close to the plants as you can to keep them from stretching to the light....... When you replant them, go above the old soil line, tomatoes like it when they are buried half way up the stem.....

My growing guides say Weak light makes tham stretch up faster, so make sure they have plenty of light - Dyalight corrected is better than cheap incandescents, Grow Lights are even better.

these things are too tall already. One yellow squash fell over and broke yesterday. How do I keep them alive????

do I plant them fully in the bottom of the bigger peat pots, and cover as much of the stems as possible??

C, Yes, replant and no more fertiziler. Plenty of light so they don't grow & search (as others have said). Miles, put me on your list!
