What say you? I know they don't make them anymore and was looking for one nib. Prices vary from 1,600 to 3,000. What do you think they are worth. This is at the top of my list but I don't want to overpay.

That caliber came in the Remington 700 classic series as well.

That would be the easiest route. 5000 Classics in that caliber made, versus 500 BDLs.

    Oakie,

I don't consider anything created for Lew Horton to be collectible. The 'rarity' is simply based on how many they had to order to get Remington to make the run.

Be sure to look at the Classic which had a much larger run.

If you're not concerned about collecting, I'd buy a short action and have one built properly. If you were concerned about bullet seating you can use a long action but Remington loaded for the short action rifles.

    Best.

I really want it in BDL for my collection. Not going to shoot it. I have the Remington 700 CDL anniversary edition with the ss fluted barrel that I hunt with. I have a few 257 roberts that are safe queens. This is just another bdl that I wanted for many years. I cannot believe how much they have gone up. I have about 12 bdl's all unfired. I just love the looks of them. I won some brass in a giveaway and can't wait to reload it. I just got a set of dies. I gave my old brass away because I was not reloading it at the time and now am kicking myself in the butt for doing that. 257 Roberts and 22 hornet Are my favorite rounds a long with the 41 magnum. I am also looking at a s&w lew horton with a 3" barrel in 41 mag. Thanks for the info, I know nothing of Lew Horton or who he is or anything about them.

LEW HORTONS are very very collectable.. l saw a 3''Python right here on GB awhile back..l think the seller wanted 40 grand for it. Just look at some of the Smith & Wesson prices for some of their Lew Horton Hunters. B I G BUCKS

In that price range get a Weatherby MK V in 257wby. Just my opinion.

The 9 bidders don't agree with you. They think it's worth twice that==$1800. This gun just sold and it is the same gun, only 354 digits away from serial number.
