Right after Sandy Hook, CA Senator Frankenstein introduced another Assault weapons ban. ALL cosponsors were DEMOCRATs as to be expected.
The bill failed.

The potential for another ban on "Assault" weapons is relative to the number of DEMOCRATs in congress.

All you really have to do is buy the lower. The other parts will always be around the same as machine gun parts are available at reasonable prices even though the guns themselves are priced out of sight.
