Alright, you have $600(or less) to spend on a bolt action rifle chambered in .243 Winchester. This rifle is going to be a gift for your nephew when he turns 12(legal deer hunting age here), what would you purchase?

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=93511926 Savage makes a real nice rifle and the Accu Trigger is super nice.

I suggest going to the auction side and searching for Savage 243 to get an idea. I would probably lean to the Savage side WITH accu trigger.
My 10 year old loves hers. She has lately been popping off a few rounds of .308 and says that she likes it better than the .243.

That is the gun that is on the top of my list for him, but I am not sure if I am going to be able to find one in my price range. Any idea on what they are going for nowadays? I will have to keep an open eye out on the auctions and in the local shops to see if I can stumble upon one for a deccent price. Heck, I wouldn't mind having one of them myself, I really like the wood/stainless model.

The Weatherby is made by Howa so there might not be enough difference between the two, I highly recommend the Savage as yu will not find a more accurate rifle, you might find a rifle that has better fit and finish but not one that is more accurate. Stay away from the Mossberg ATR.
