Given how insane most of the policies in our country seem to be when it comes to illegal aliens, this really doesn't come as much of a surprise. In fact, you could even say it's the logical next step along the road to the open borders reality so many on the left in our country have been working for, (and that some in the GOP give a wink and nod).

But believe it or not, a PUBLIC college in California has just created a scholarship to be awarded ONLY to illegal aliens. Yes, really.

Santa Ana College will dedicate a scholarship for illegal immigrant students in memory of 27-year-old immigration activist Tam Ngoc Tran of Garden Grove, who was killed in a crash involving a suspected drunken driver in Maine on May 15. ...

Tran and 26-year-old Cinthya Felix Perez of Los Angeles were both killed in the crash. The friends were active members of the DREAM Act immigration reform movement, which aims to allow students who are in the country illegally the chance to apply for legal permanent residency, protect them from deportation and make them eligible for student loans and federal work-study programs.

The scholarship would lack meaning if the student selected for the award were not taking the same path to citizenship as Tran, said Sara Lundquist, vice president of Student Affairs at Santa Ana. So, for example, an international student with a student visa will not qualify for this scholarship, she said.

"Tam dedicated her time and energy advocating for children of undocumented immigrants who were brought into this country and grew up as Americans, but are not even permanent residents," Lundquist said.

The college is creating a $2,500 matching scholarship in Tran's name and is hoping that more people come forward with donations to add to it. ...

Amazing. A scholarship that discriminates against against anyone who is NOT breaking the law. Again, this is a PUBLIC college...supported with taxpayer dollars.

Just curious, but would it be "racist" to ask how many students who are LEGAL immigrants, much less actual citizens, will not be able to get a college scholarship to this school?

And would it be "racist" in the eyes of the open borders crowd to create a college scholarship that had as one of its criteria that the student be a legal resident or citizen? (OK, we all know that answer to that one).

It's the in-your-face garbage like this from politicians, the media and, in this case, academics that continues to make Americans more sick of how our country deals with illegal immigration.

These are the same people who are usually shocked to see national polls that show overwhelming majorities of the American people supporting new laws cracking down on illegal immigration, (such as in Arizona...and recently even in Massachusetts).

They have only themselves to blame.
