Ashcroft's decision

I can't believe the arrogance of this self appointed right wing nazi. In one stroke of the pen he has changed the government's reasonable stance on gun control and said any wanna be wyatt earp can have all kinds of assault guns. Don't you people know that reasonable gun control laws are only to protect children and helpless women? Don't you realize that his actions will only put guns in criminals' hands?
How can you be so insensitive to the needs of innocent women and children?

How original, taking a pro gun-control stance in a gun forum. Try it on another board. By the way, does kidlover refer to membership in NAMBLA, or are you a catholic priest?

Why do people get their jollies by pissing other people off? This isn't a pot stirrer...its a trouble maker with too much time on his/her hands.

BTW with all the scandal going on in the church these days, I'd think twice about posting under that handle.

BY the same stroke of the pen Mr.Ashcroft allowed women to defend themselves and their with out fear of breaking the law. When a 5'0, 120 lb woman or her child is being attacted by a 6'1, 240 lb rapist, or abuser can defend her and her children because the police are understaffed or on the other side of town dealing with another crime i think it is a good thing.

By a single stroke of the pen, Ashcroft, restored a keystone of the Constitution that had taken an undeserved battering from cowards, control junkies and blind men for two centuries. If serin gas in a Japanese subway, bombs in Israeli nightclubs, the destruction of an Oklahoma City federal building, and the toppling of two New York towers, plus an attack on the Pentagon, can't convince someone that an unarmed citizenry is a helpless society, then I just hope you thank me when I save your sorry butt some day by securing our block after the next unexpected surprise attack on us "invulnerable" Americans. As for criminals, I'd rather meet one armed than unarmed, any day. Finally, a ray of sunshine. I'm beginning to think it really IS a new millennium, after all...

Your personal attacks are understandable from people of your limited mentality. Is there one of you that can offer a rational rebuttal? Offerer wants to blow criminals away (maybe some of you do too) but don't you realize that they are victims of their environment and can't help themselves?

Besides, if those 'victims of their environment' try to harm me or mine, they will become victims of MY environment.

Don't worry about yourself though, you just dial 911. Someone will be along to help you directly...

"....people of your limited mentality. Is there one of you THAT (my emphasis on the word "that") can offer ...." We've got a winner here, folks!

"Hey, kettle, you're black". Signed, The Pot.

Keep stirrin', whoever you are, this ought to be fun! Way too easy, perhaps, but hey, you've got to take your fun wherever you can find it, right?

Monkey, are you sure it isn't you?

We don't owe a rebuttal to every uneducated opinion. The onus is on you to figure out why we're right (and why the founding fathers wrote the Second Amendment to begin with). Since you wanted to be a new member here you've got a lot of reading and catching up to do before you'll have anything to offer. Or did you think bringing an opinion was enough credentials? This ain't Talkback Live, sorry.

It's 3 AM and you've just been awakened by a noise. In the living room you find yourself confronted by a big guy coming toward you with a Rambo knife telling you he's going to tie you, your wife and kids up upstairs. The papers have had 3 other cases like this in the last month so you know this guy is probably going to rape your wife in front of you and then kill you all. Are you going to let him, or are you going to wish you had a gun handy to use on this poor environmentally-challenged soul? Oops, won't do you any good then, though, because it's too late to run out a buy a gun or arrange therapy for your misunderstood buddy, so Mr. Sociopath ties you all up rapes your wife in front of you and your kids, and then it gets REALLY bad. And you chose to be a victim in your last living moments because you backed the wrong politics and misread the Second Amendment, to boot. Guys like you are the fruit flies in the sunny backyards of life. Get an education and grow up.

If you like guncontrol so much, move to England or Australia. Hell, Canada is not to far, nor is Mexico. Need a bus ticket? I'll spring one way if you promise to never come back.

That was sweet music to our ears. Thanks to the N.R.A. God Bless America and the N.R.A. (Now we can start to get rid of some of the stupid gun laws on the books) This is a big victory for us gun lovers we do appreciate your opinion however.

The constitution was implimented for a reason by leaders of our great country. They understood that the protection for the people could not be everywhere all the time. Thats why the second ammendment refers to the people to own and bear arms to protect themselves as well as their family when the police can not be there to protect and serve. Also, if the police were around all the time, when would you have your privicy?
