They are supposedly 100% real Russian made AK-47's(coverted to semi-auto) that were brought into the USA.The metal is highly polished to a mirror finish with some metal having a matte finish for contrast. The entire gun is like this, from the "Dragunov "style buttstock all the way up to and including the barrel.I have to say it relly looks amazing. They are calling it the "Cold War" victory edition, with this also engraved in the receiver. Also engraved in the receiver is the famous and historic quote of President Ronald Reagan "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down that Wall".This all can be your for just $1,995.00

    These are the same guys who brought us these;

I forgot to add...for the same price you can purchase a single shot .50BMG which could provide years of shooting enjoyment rather than having a $275 gold plated AK!! Beach

Please dont dishonor a fine weapon with ridiculous markings like that.

Btw: M.T. Kalashnikov is still alive, apparently. I'd like to meet him one day. He'd be a remarkable fellow to talk to, I'm sure.

Bullzeye...you are right it is a fine weapon for its purpose I just get really P.O.ed when I see somebody jacking the price up to make a killing profit on something that really doesn't have any purpose but making money. Beach

There is a great show I've caught twice on the history channel, part of the "Tales of the Gun" series, where Kalishnakov is interviewed and tells about his life in the Soviet Army. He was a remarkably innovative engineer. (But the foreign military officers I've met who use the AK at home still like the accuracy of the M16A2)

I agree with you 100%, Beach.

I just came back from the range with my SAR-1.

Someone earlier was talking about their ultimate weapon. The one that just eventually grows till it feels like it's an extension of your body. Like you're firing and reloading and aiming and cleaning just like it's a * function.

I'd have to say, for me at least, that weapon is my SAR-1.

The feeling you get after you empty a 40-round magazine in 4 seconds or so.....what with the barrel smoking and the stench of cordite everywhere.....I just cant put words to describe that feeling.

They better have AKs in heaven! :)

But bullzeye...did you hit anything with those 40 rounds in 4 seconds? I see I'm going to have to attempt to start converting you to reaching out with a single shot over a long range with a full match M1 or M1A. Same result only you still have 39 rounds to do it again. Beach

    I hear you, beach.

I believe our own supermonkey made a similar transition recently.

I'm trying to flesh out the details in getting a Garand from Milarm in Canada. Excellent cond. Garands for $225. No joke.

Dont know which armory their from, and I dont know what Customs fees/delays would apply, but that seems to be my best bet for getting a Garand unless I win the lottery.

Hey, if you havent done the job by the time I run within 100 yards of the target, at least I can scare the pants off it if I dont hit it.

Bullzeye, I have an acquaintance that has met and had a discussion with Mr. Klashnikov while he was in Russia...I would bet that would have been a great experience. Maybe someday he will tell me more about it.

By the way fellas, I think you are a little off on the Price of those Russian Klashnikov Rifles, I think they start at about $500.00 and go up form there. The have the milled reciever as does the Bulgarian AK.

Bullz, listen to the Man with the Garand, fellah. One round of aimed fire usually has more effect than rock n' roll. But, yeah, it is a blast to blow off a whole bunch of ammo in a short period of time.

I have to admit I saw that AK and it's the first gun I've seen in a while that looks good all dressed up like that. Usually these guns just look like over-gilt wall hangings to me. By the way, these things generally DO NOT become "antiques" in terms of investment value, so you've gotta really just want one to justify paying that kind of money. And right now I don't have two grand for an AK, Russian or not. Wish I did. That's a pretty fine one. I wonder if I'd ever shoot it....

I hasten to add that this particular gun might be the exception that becomes a valuable heirloom some day. They seem to have got the sentiment, and the artwork, right.

They come from http://www.ahfrichmond.com/ ,but they are not listed on the site yet.As far as the 100% russian made,I believe they mean the receiver, barrel, fire control parts, etc. They would HAVE to put a Dragunov stock on it for legality reasons,I believe what they are saying is that th guns' workings are Russian made but for importation/crime bill reasons they had to do the stock and 10 round mags only.

It looks like a nickel plated WSAR with the single-stack 10-round mags.

Note that the ad refers to "Soviet" military...
