While on active duty in the Navy, the ship I was stationed on played host to a Finnish mine sweeper. I got to meet several of the Finnish CPO's and had supper in their CPO Mess. Took one to a gun shop so he could buy a couple of scopes for his Sako rifles. To thank me he gave me a handmade knife engraved with the ship's name and hull number.

Is that close enough to being in the Finnish military? I mean after all I was actually aboard a Finnish warship.
