What's shipping going to cost me?

Going to wheel-and-deal on a long gun tomorrow and was wondering what I can expect to pay for standard shipping from Dealer in Pennsylvania to my Dealer in Wisconsin? Want to make sure they don't try to tack on any 'extra'. Thanks.GL

Going to depend on box size, weight, insurance, priority etc.

Green,I had a guy in Virginia ask for the zipcode of my dealer,so he could figure the exact shipping charge. It came out to $8 and change,to send the rifle here to Flarda.I had a guy in Penn.that charged a flat $20.00..218

Whenever I make a sale, I give the customer the exact quote that the shipping vendor gave me, as well as the vendor's phone number so that they can call and verify the rate. If a seller won't tell you how he arrived at his shipping rate, be wary.

Seller is a dealer! Sale is not an auction though. Found the item on another site .... which shall remain nameless because we all know what'll happen to this thread if I put it here :-) Judging from the posts, if it's up around $20 just for standard shipping with little else then I'd better inquire as to how the amount was derived. Much thanks everyone!GL

I was in an auction recently where a gun was coming from "Flarda" to here in WA State. The seller asked for $20.00 shipping. OK, so he makes a few bucks on S&H, I think to myself....nope. He spent $22.87 or so on the best the USPS had to offer.

For a long gun I have generally paid $15 to $20, but have seen it as high as $30 on auctions, and one guy who said "we ship in a plastic case, $35 deposit, $25 shipping, most want to keep the case." Yeah right.

Had a long gun shipped from CA to IL about 2 years ago. S&H was about $15 but I had to give the FFL holder (gun shop) $25 for processing paperwork.
