so after the debacle with the owner the wife and I are looking into making that next big step...we're talking to a mortgage guy tomorrow evening.....so I'm assuming that this means that my dreams of purchasing a gazillion firearms over the next few years is going to have to be put on the back burner......so I have decided that I need to fill the essential slots in my safe

what I have:
10/22
tikka t3 .300wsm
mossberg 12ga
xd .40
rem 700 30/06

what im thingking I HAVE to have
semi auto SHTF : AK?
long range varmingt savage 12? handi rifle ultra varminter?
revolver tracker .357?
.22 handgun baretta neos?

I think with these 4 small additions I will have every conceivable need adequately covered
weigh in with your thoughts guys

Don't worry. Buying a home will boost your credit so much that credit card companies will start sending you cards in the mail with $5000-10,000 limits. Snag one of these cards from the mailbox when the wife is not looking and use it as your secret "gun financing" account.

Other than a .22 pistol and an AR or AK of some type, you just about
have everything covered already. Although you can never have enough
    firearms or ammo.

I've just 'discovered' Maks - been kinda ignoring them for
a long, long time but finally broke down and bought
an E. Ger. a few months ago. It's a hoot to shoot! The
fixed barrel design (no link&bushing) makes it very
accurate - very concealable, cheap to buy, and the
    ammo's very cheap (9x18) - I'm very impressed!

I collect historical military guns, anyway ... and I'm
negotiating for my 4th one already!

    ... my 2? ...

    What no AK's already.

Better get at least one while the getting is still good.

No thanks by your freind Sterling Nixon Chief BATFE Tech, who stopped the import of evil parts kits.

    young n dum:

    The priority list should read;
    1. A wonderful wife
    2. Kids (optional)
    3. House (very important)
    4. Everything else!

Young n dumb: Forget about more guns till you have your house all settled in. Do with what you have as of now till you see your way to
purchase these with CASH. Those damn credit card payments will kill you
and your family unless paid up (completely) each month. Wife, kids, and
house come first above all. Your "Toys" (more guns) come at a last thing. Your house and family come first.

You can't get any better advice than this.
The American dream is: Wife, family, and being a homeowner.
Everything else is icing on the cake.

...House comes first..no truer words have been spoke. Mines PAID for, in full, owe nothing..and between taxs, upkeep and blah, blah I still AVERAGE over $2,000 a month to live here! It never goes away, the real money pit. Now that I actually saw what it cost to live in my "paid for" house,...think I might move.....[:D]

How can you even consider buying a house when you own no Savage Model 99's. Winchester pre-64's, no Bushies, have not a Sig to your name, etc., etc?!?!?!
Wait a few years, until you have one of every RUM chambering, several high-dollar custom, wild-cats, a half dozen 1911's, some of the really essential things, then start thinking about pissing your money away on a place to live! Don't listen to those fools, they're all screwed-up!*LOL*

................or you could buy a house?

Think of it not as buying a house, but an armory. After all an apartment is only good for 60 - 70 weapons. Now you'll have basement, attic, room above the garage, detached ammo dumps, and of course the all important den - where no-one but you and the dog are allowed entry.

See? You feel better already [:p]

first off,..a mortgage payment is the same as a savings account. You NEVER lose money on a good house. Second,..a happy wife means more guns for you. Buy the house and buy more guns later. Better to be paying on something you own rather that throwing money out the window.

why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....
