Matricula Consular Cards: Myth and Facts behind the Mexican ID Cards
September 16, 2004- Matricular Consular cards are identification cards issued by the Mexican government to mainly illegal immigrants living in the United States. Currently, more than 350 financial institutions accept Matricula Consular cards as proof of identification thereby allowing thousands of illegal immigrants to have access to mainstream U.S. financial services.
Regulation in the federal budget prohibited U.S. businesses from accepting these cards, but an amendment passed September 14, 2004, which Congressman Miller opposed, that pulls this requirement.

I misread the article and thought the list was of folks who supported the measure to allow acceptance of these cards.
Kimi,
I misread the article and thought the list was of folks who supported the measure to allow acceptance of these cards.
No Sweat, Sardo. I just thought I was missing something.
But hey, I caught it early, so it's all good. [:)] I left my original post to illustrate how important it is to think before posting. Since I call out Phatbassturd so often on his errors, I only felt it was the right thing to do to leave mine out in the open for folks to see.

For those Matricular Consular Cards to mean anything, they first have to be issued by an honest and lawful government. Mexico hasn't had that kind of government for hundreds of years.

It's been that way since Montezuma left "office".
I'm only sweating it because I almost called everyone of these reps out as scumbags.

That is an altogether different story, huh?
Since the Hispanics have basicly taken over the labor pool, all the landscaping, roofers, etc. laborer positions I don't believe what seems to be a population explosion of hispanics is from sneaking over the border I think Uncle Sammy let em in to provide the labor to expand the economy. That would explain the lax behavior towards the "cards". My question would be will they go home during the coming recession or will we be feeding them?
You are exactly correct on expansion of the economy. Big money did the same thing in a concerted move to drive the farmers into the industrial revolution. They will probably continue to stream into America...anchor-baby rights and benefits are highly popular and extend to criminals, which are purposely protected by the constitution.
