Low flow toilets

It seems like the Govt has even gotten its noses in our toilets.
Bad enough our guns, smokes, and the likes. Since the 1992 "flush
law" it is against the law to install or import a decent toilet that
really flushes properly with one flush. What in *&^% next will they
think of. Maybe the old "outhouse" is the answer, but I am sure they
are probably illegal. Maybe a TRUE quota on immigration would solve
the water shortage????

We have recently installed a 1.6 gallon water closet (God I love that name) and have no problem with it at all.

I understand that you can get the regular ones on the black market imported from Canada. If you need to know the number, the mafia here in NJ can get it for you, lol.

You might try your local CRAPPERS-R-US or www.toilets.com

That website turned out to be real.

The Low flows are really a great idea...The problem is you have to flush twice to make them work right most of the time so where is the savings.

I would recomend Toto brand toilets. They have a superior design to other low-flows. I talked to a plumber one time that said about a Toto-"You could flush a meatloaf down this thing." What I like about them is you can get a soft close seat and lid that goes down by itself like it has a hydraulic shock. You just push the lid a little and it eases down on its own.

My low flow toilet caused me grief one time with a plugged line to my septic tank. I simply removed the plastic bowl that surrounds the flapper. Now it power flushes and I've never had a plugged line again. Look inside the tank, it really is quite an easy fix. It's my house and my crapper, I'll flush it with as much water as I damn well want to.

My wife is looking over my shoulder and this is her reply to our low flush camode. She said if I don't replace it with one that really works good she is going to smash it with a sledge hammer and we will have to go .... outside.

I had a friend, Joe Karr, who sold old toilets.

Smokinggun...My wife said that sounds like a good idea because she heard a Toto was good. I hadn't seen one but she used one that worked good in a Safeway store.

Toto makes a good commode. They have a 2 1/2" internal trap where most every other commode has a 2 " internal trap. If you want a 1.6 gal commode that will really flush get one with a Sloan Flushmate in the tank. They use the pressure from your incoming water supply to force everything out of the bowl, through the trap, into the sewer line. You need to make sure you have at least 20 psi water pressure in order for these to work properly.I am a plumbing contractor and use these occasionaly. I have never saw one stopped up. They are a little loud but will out flush anything one the market.
