tax returns and e-file. Do you use H&R Block or Turbo Tax ??? Normally they both send me the disk in the mail. This year I got none, is there any others out there that will work besides those two ???

true story: a friend used H&R block, they said he owed 5,200 bucks
we took the same figures and put them in turbo tax, he received 4,200 in a refund, they failed to file 3 different papers for his business, and his earned income credits

You can use their software to prepare your return FOR FREE. You only pay if you want to print out your actual paper return, or want them to file for you.
Now, if you own a lot of property, or a business, or have rental income, or day trade ---- you probably need to pay a professional.

No one buys disks or download programs for tax prep any more. We use a secure online service. IRS has a long list of approved preparers that they partner with.

This was the first time in about 10 years that I didn't get a disk in the mail without requesting one. They just send them, it isn't costing them squat. If half the people that received them by mail use them, their getting a ton of money that they probably never would have gotten. What you mention of must be something new starting this year.
