What do you have to do to clean it after a load like that before you can haul food products again?
Freedom and a submissive populace cannot co-exist.

Just a quick trip to the truck wash, they go in with a hose and cleaner.

It doesn't have to be sterilized after you wash it out?

And with all that dust, isn't that kind of hard on your refrigerator unit?

They will use detergent and hot water to wash the entire inside, reefer unit wasn?t running so it?s safe from dust. Any food products that goes in there will be boxed, it?s safe. The only time to be concerned is if I load garbage and while I?m like the USPS with the If It Fits It Ships motto I refuse to haul garbage.

They loaded it with a front end loader and conveyor belt, took about 45 minutes to fill it up. Funny thing was when I weighed it I was only 68700#s, thought for sure I was going to be over 80K!

Why would anyone need cold bark?
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

If it had been wet I could have been a pecker head and froze it for them [:D]

I had a project up in eureka, CA at a wood fired power plant. The trucks from the lumbermill would come in loaded with bark and sawdust and back onto the lift. It would raise up the entire truck with the tractor still attached.

And, every once in awhile one of the drivers would forget to shut off the engine. As all of the oil ran to the back of the motor, it would sieze up, destroying itself. [xx(]quote:Originally posted by CaptFun

"How many loads do you have to run to off set the cost of washing out the inside of the trailer?"

All the dust, grit, and crumbs will settle out in the first couple of loads. Most "reefer" loads are wrapped/packaged vs just being a pile of meat or produce dumped on the floor anyway.

Those things happen not just out of excitement but also stress and fear can cause that! Hell 30 years ago a slight breeze would do the same! [:D][:D]
