Should one downsize their collection?

OK, the problem is I've run out of space for my gun collection. Now what do I do. On one hand I like all my guns (thats how I ended up with so many). On the other hand I would like some more high end stuff but don't have the money to spend or space. Should I sell off some stuff to buy better guns and have less of them. Or should I keep what I have and not buy any more guns.

I dont know what ya got, but if you got some cheap stuff in your collection, mass them together and get something of quality, cheap stays cheap, but quality goes up.

There are very few guns that I have sold over my lifetime that I haven't regreted later. Will the other stuff hold its value or appreciate like a gun.(Such as Antiques) or will it be something that you will get a lot more enjoyment from than you do the guns. Sounds like a personal decision that you have to weight the pros and cons and decide for yourself....OTO

Economics being what they are (a limiting factor for some of us), I would say don't give up anything truly important. I'd look to give up junk, whim purchases, duplicates in lesser condition, parts guns, unneeded accessories such as grips and holsters, guns in marginal condition that you know you can replace later with better examples.

About the only time I sell is when I'm either dissatisfied with the gun, or I find a better example of the same gun, and don't need 2 of them. If I let economics, need, or common sense interfere with my obsession, I wouldn't have half the fun I have now.

Look into getting some special racks made for storage. You'd be supprised how many guns you can fit in a room if you have the right setup. Or you may look into selling just a couple of them and adding a new room to your house. Or sell some that you don't exactly like anymore and buy one nicer bigger one you wanted.

I just wish I had a dollar for every gun I wanted, then I'd be a rich man.

I was able to take the shelves out of my safe and cut in another rack for 50-% more long guns.

The only time to sell is when the wife catches one coming out of the truck after a gun show...........
