Will they bring back incandecent lights?

One my precious incandescent bulb in the bathroom blew out. Got 2 bulbs left and since they state not to use CFLs in the bathroom I don't. I need newly made old school 75 watter in the squatter room.

We got white chocolate in the white house who can bring back the "soft white". It'll bring back jobs and I'm sure there were advances in incandescent technologies.

Yosh, replace em with LED bulbs, they even have a "soft white" version now. They're cooler, brighter, use less power, and you don't need to call a Calif hazmat team out if you break one.[:)]

    Damn.

Did yellow peril just link the incandescent light bulb ban to our former milk chocolate president on the last day of black history month???

    Wow.

    Mad props.

I've replaced EVERYTHING in my overseas house with L.E.D.s. Not one incandescent bulb and it's not just me,, my guess is 90% have been replaced in the entire town. That has cut most peoples electricity bill by 30%.

Do have 4 fluorescent bulb type lights in the garage.

Have changed two rental houses to all L.E.D. Folks KNOW reduces their electric charges and gives them more light,, ie> more money in my pocket.

In addition the city's lighting in the central park is L.E.D. pole/floodlights. Bet they will replace the street lights with L.E.D.s when the old Sodium light burn out.

The only thing incandescent bulbs are good for is throwing in the pond and sinking them will a well placed shot.[:D]

Every light in my house has been switched to LED, the house stays cooler and the electric bill has dropped.

The crappy quality incandescent bulbs available now won't last2 months in my well house. I hooked up some heat tape with a thermostat to control it about three years ago. No worries now.

They used to make a little button that reduced the power to the bulb. It went into the socket under the bulb. I used them in my well house & bulbs lasted the whole season. Problem is that if you can find them now, they're $100 each. Perhaps there's a gizmo you can put in the line that would do the same thing.

Except for a few specialized fixtures for which they don't make LEDs yet, there really is no need for incandescents any more. I saw a six-pack of 60-watt equivalent LEDs for $11 at Home Depot yesterday. Even when they were as much as $25 a bulb, they were worth it because they cost so little to run and they last almost forever.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

The halogen bulbs are incandescent. They're a filament bulb within a bulb.

No, and VHS and 8-tracks are not coming back either.

You can quote me on that.

I had my grandson in law put a new heavy duty bulb in my well pit in early Dec. and he had to replace it in Jan. Its out now but its been so warm I don't need a new one.
I used to put the old ones in Down there in Nov. and they were still working in April when I took them out.

If you just want the heat and don't need the light, go to a pet shop that stocks for reptiles. They stock bulbs that put out heat only, no light, and last forever.

So this LED is bathroom safe? 'Cos I love me hot showers.

I thought about those 130 volt "rough duty"? But I seen on youtube that they're crappy and blow out even quicker. They also don't put out the wattage as printed.

I wish they'd smuggle some bulbs in with illegals or dope. Never thought I'd have to look for incandescent light bulbs from a seller in an ally way [:D].

There is no problem with LED's a bathroom unless you use a dimmer. I use the round frosted bulbs (strip light fixture holds 4 bulbs) to replace 40w incandescents; they come on instantly.
