Allstate just kills me sometime...................

just got a letter stating that a home inspector will be coming out in the next
few days to "access" the outside of my home to see if they can "help" me avoid
potential dangers like over hanging tree limbs or pool hazard, etc.

been with them 20 years o + and this is the first time for this.

I call it fishing for more revenue.

I've only had one claim in that 20 years for a washer that stuck and overflowed over a weekend while we were away.

so I've spent the day getting up all the targets and tale tale signs of any shooting
goings on and I removed the beware of dog sign. (he's a big wus as it is but he's still a 70 pound german shepherd wus, lol)

I hope I can put him up before they get here but I don't have a clue what day it will be. I mean IF they REALLY wanted to help wouldn't they make an appointment instead of "we'll show up sometime"?

anyhow, when you use a GPS to find my house it will always take you 1/2 mile down the road and my road also has a short cut off road of THE SAME NAME[:o)] which screws up every gps I've ever seen. can be a B but I kinka like it now[;)]. so I went out to the box and took off all the numbers so the * agent will probably have to call me just to find the place.

that way I can put the dog inside [;)]

any other sugesstions?

also on a side note, I cancelled my auto insurance with them about 2 months ago when I found a co. that gave me more coverage for 500 less a year. I gave allstate a chance to match it but they wouldn't.

If the rep finds a tree "they" consider dangerous to people or property they will tell you that any damage caused by said tree will not be covered...

I have Acuity have had them for at least 10 -12 years or so. They keep sending me letters asking me how old my roof is??? They have it listed as being replaced in 1993. Well I think we bought this place in 94 and it had 3 roofs on it then and it still does. I also think they are fishing about the roof to get more money saying its a hazard.

i have been with them since 1994. I pay $100 a month for homeowners that has $200k coverage on the house and $185k for contents. If I suffer a 51% loss they write a check for $385k minus 1% for deductible and minus the payoff of the house. No questions, reguardless of undamaged property remaining.

My truck is $100 a month.

I really cant complain. They were a little high on the Vette so I tried a few of thos 15 min places but after the first 6 months they always jumped 20% or more. I went to Corvette musuem for insurance and its only $250 a year and I can drive 5k miles a year.

I like USAA. When they want to know something they send a letter and ask me.

I have been using Auto Owner's insurance for both home and cars for the last 7 or 8 years. I just recently moved into a "manufactured" home and the insurance went from 500 dollars a year to 1500 dollars a year. This is for their max coverage of 136,000. I get discounts for multiple car\home and for paying premium for the whole year all at once. They are sticking it to me for an extra 1000 on the home owners policy, just because the home is manufactured. I hope to find another company that will provide better coverage for less. Once upon a time I felt loyalty to certain companies and stayed with them for decades. These days we are nothing but numbers to most businesses that we are required to have coverage's.[V]

You might want to check with your agent on that homeowners coverage. I USED to think they wrote a check for contents equaling the policy value. It does not work that way.

I would tell them to make an appointment or they can kiss off. Also explain to them anyone on my property without my permission and presence is trespassing and will go to jail.
