Scope for Turk & Russian. Need hellp

Giving grandson one of the above. He wants to know which will be easiest to mount scope. I don't have a clue so help me out if you can. Thanks, Tom

Oh yes, the Turk is the 8MM M38 and the Ruskie is Mosin Nagant 91/30

    Best bet MAY be to use a long eye relief scope, and a mount that replaces the rear sight. surplusrifle.com had some info on doing that with a milsurp rifle. No drilling, no tapping, can be restored to original config. No bent bolt handles, etc.

    Some people like the long eye relief scope, but I don't. I put one on a rifle and shot it a few times, took it off and stuck it in a box.

    So, if you are going to drill and tap the Mauser would be easier to mount a scope to.
    The Mosin Nagant receiver has a weird shape, although, it can be drilled and tapped as well.
