Monkey,I more than understand your venting about the mayo.It gets madding for me when I am trying to make Dr's appointments in Houston.I cant understand instructions or directions. When you go to lunch,You have every rite to get just what you ordered. It is your lunch , And you are paying for it.

There is another side to this story.I have seen more of than I would like. I am going to pull the plug here.I have spent a lot of time near the border in South Texas. To see what these people go through to have a better life is heart breaking.Have you ever seen a dead mother holding her dead baby,Because they became lost in the brush.I have had six men in front of me, On there knees quivering, begging for water.

Call Kennedy County sheriff's office, And see how many dead (Wets) they find a year. These people are victims from the second they cross the border. There was one living in a hut on a ranch I hunted. He sent most of his meager wages to his wife and seven children every month. These people walk hundreds of miles through terrible country. They die from dehydration, rattle snake bites, And starvation. All this to work for a minimum wage. I cant prove it (Thank God),But I have often herd the worst story of all. There are people who sit in deer blinds and shoot them. I have wondered if I ever had what it takes, To do what they do for a better life.

I fully agree with you Monkey. It is aggravating to understand what they are saying, But I understand what they went through to get here, And why.

Aww, man, Varmit, you had to go and show you have a heart. Now you are gonna get flamed for being a liberal (that seems to be the worst thing you can call someone around here). The line will go: "those people ought to stay in their own country! America is for Americans!"

Now, will everyone one whose family was not here in 1490 go home please.

Varmit hit center mass on this on, I too live in Texas, and as I'm in an agricultural field have occasion to talk to some of these people. They don't really want to be up here, far away from their families, and everyone they know...having to run and hide everytime you see a fireman, or rent a cop because of all the terrible things you've heard INS will do to you. They come up here because they and their families are living in poverty down there, and they had to do something. They come up here work for wages that none of us would work for, doing jobs that none of us want to do, just so they can improve their family's station in life. I know they can be irritating because you can't understand them...but you can get around that...

And then again, take my situation, My lady is from Canada, we have been trying for 3 yrs to make her a legal resident, and continually run into a catch 22,

To get a green card, she needs a job, to get a job she needs a green card. cant get either without the other,

Even tho we are married, INS gives no gaurentee that she will be recognized. MONEY MONEY MONEY.

So I told her to go to MIAMI, buy some banana,s , get a rowboat, and go out in the ocean about 3 miles, row back in eating a banana and she will be given anything she wants.

Classic...that was a good one. I am of cuban parents, and understand the plight of those on this board that feel that minorities have been stealing jobs from the ones who really deserve them. I live in Miami and see it every day.

John Smith is a contractor for a construction company...comes to your house and gives you an estimate to do some remodelling work around your house. total comes out to about $2000

Pepe Perez happens to be driving by and sees that you are in the market for some remodelling work and says that he will do the same job for $1500.

Wouldn't be so bad if Pepe was liscenced and insured as John is, but he's not and will probably do a sh!tty job anyway. I have seen this happen way to often and it makes me sick. Thats why more and more self employed people who are service oriented are going under in Places like Miami and other cities where minorities are the majority.

I am still trying to figure out how a person who has gotten to this country less than a year ago, can have a car, a house, and a cellular phone to talk to all his amigos, while I'm busting my hump 50-60 hours a week just to pay my bills. It really is a disgrace, but along with those like Pepe, there are a few that are good people that have real jobs and have worked hard (legally) since they got to this great country.

    Varmit Hunter,
My venting isn't about Mayo. It's about people who come to feed off our our country and don't even have the respect to learn the language.

"Have you ever seen a dead mother holding her dead baby, Because they became lost in the brush.I have had six men in front of me, On there knees quivering, begging for water."

While that's very sad it isn't OUR problem. Stupidity is natures broom. Don't disregard the fact that these people are criminals entering our country illegally. Don't mess with a bull and cry when you get the horns.

"Call Kennedy County sheriff's office, And see how many dead (Wets) they find a year. These people are victims from the second they cross the border."

Victims? How in the heck can you call these people victims! I suppose a suicide jumper is a victim of the car he lands on eh? Drug dealers, thugs and gang bangers aren't criminals, they are merely poor innocent victims of their environment.

"There was one living in a hut on a ranch I hunted. He sent most of his meager wages to his wife and seven children every month."

That's very admirable, but wouldn't it have been easier for this man to have showed some forethought had not married or had SEVEN children if he was unable to provide for them?

"These people walk hundreds of miles through terrible country. They die from dehydration, rattle snake bites, And starvation. All this to work for a minimum wage. I cant prove it (Thank God),But I have often herd the worst story of all. There are people who sit in deer blinds and shoot them. I have wondered if I ever had what it takes, To do what they do for a better life."

Somebody has to help these poor innocent self made victims.

Yes, I guess they do take some jobs that "Americans" could have, but they also do jobs that no one else will. What would it cost to get you to drive stakes on a concrete crew. Would you muck out 30-40 horse stalls everyday for 200-250 a week, and a place to live? I wouldn't, but they are grateful for any work that will pay. They are proud to be working, and do menial jobs with pride. We can gripe about these people sneaking up here and working all day, but the real problem is the people sitting on their fat @ss's watching springer, and only exerting themselves enough to go to the mail box to see if their govt. check is there yet...that is money straight out of our pockets

A humans beings' first responsibility is to take care of themselves and their families. A person who doesn't do what he has-to-do to do that is a waste of skin. Political borders be damned!

    SaxonPig,
Man I don't want to offend you, but what are you doing in CA? We would welcome such a well spoken proponent of conservative views in TX, hell, there's a nice little 30 acre place with a fishing pond on it just down the road from me, you'll be much more welcomed here, and to my knowledge, the illeagals don't have near the rights here that you describe, and they definately aren't as bold.

Thanks for the sentiment, Saxon Pig, I do appreciate it. However, don't pity me - I live here by choice. As screwed up as the politics are, and as difficult as it is to be a middle-class firearms enthusiast, I don't feel it is right for me to ask for sympathy when I could leave if I wanted to!

Although I continue to be generally happy living here, it is becoming increasingly frustrating as this state continues to encourage illegal immigration. I am all for a person who strives to meet his responsibilities and who wants what is best for his/her family. However, I don't appreciate the attitude that my checkbook is readily available to meet these ends. Furthermore, I really don't like the attitude that some of these people and their advocates seem to have about how they DESERVE my money and my resources simply because I have thay don't.

When the People of Califronia voted to deny social services and benefits to illegal immigrants, the protesters always conveniently left out the word "illegal". They screamed and hollered and pulled their kids out of school claiming that us racist bigots were against ALL immigration and how dare we feel that way since we were a "nation of immigrants". Well, the law pertains specifically to ILLEGAL immigrants. Legal immigrants - those who pay taxes into the sytem - were not affected.

Furthermore, amnesty is offered to illegal imigrants periodically so that they have a "fair" chance to become "taxpayers" and we won't have to spend so much money chasing them down and deporting them yadda yadda yadda. Well, guess who these pardoned illegal immigrants vote for.

Saxon touched on another aspect of living in an area that hosts a large population of illegal immigrants - the unusualy high number of violent incidents that they become involved in. He illustrated it well so I won't expound on it here, but do keep this next thought in mind: The violent crimes that are perpetuated by these people are used to justify the restrictive firearm laws that we are saddled with. Don't think for a minute that you aren't affected by this because you don't live in California. There is a nasty trend in politics that shows that whatever starts in California eventually spreads to other areas of the country. I sincerely hope that California gun laws do not come to your neighborhood, but it can happen.

    WOOF.

Varmint hunter: Did you ever hear of ONE "below the border" country
ever aiding us in war time? What gives?? Now they want all the
"freebees" they think they are entitled to?? At a cost of MY taxpayer
dollar?? No way "JOSE". This one way bit has to stop. Sorry, but I
paid my dues in WW 2 as a Infantryman in Europe with not one damn bit
of help from them. Same as the Korea and Viet Nam Vets and others.
