I gotta quit buying these...

In 1985 I lost a 30 Carbine Blackhawk in a burglary. Bought another just like it. A couple years later I sold it. Now I bought another one. What's wrong with me? Not the first time I've purchased the same gun more than once.

Did the guy from whom you bought it admit to burglarizing your home?

I'd say as long as it doesn't have the same serial number, then you're still within the boundaries of sane. If you're selling and buying back the exact same gun... now there's something wrong with you![;)]

Actually, I have bought back the same gun a couple times.

You picked it up for a good price, the 30 Carbines have really been going up in price lately.

One of these is the next gun on my list. I just have to finish payments on my SD40VE.

I've done the samething with AR-15s, Glock 23s, Sig 228s and Kimbers. I'll buy one, keep it a while, sell it, regret selling it, buy another and do it all over again!

[Maybe it's an illusion, but that looks like a heck of a 'scratch' on the left side of the barrel! Picture looks like a rupture. Again, maybe just an illusion, but I'd sure want another picture of that!
    /quote]

The discription says it is a scratch -yes it looks like a significant one from what I can see also. Maybe a reblue of the barrel is planned.

It does look bad in photo and that's why it went for $414. Usually see these selling for $500-$600. I just want a shooter so a flaw in the finish isn't a big deal to me. I assume it is just cosmetic.

I have had 2 of them in the past. They are fun to shoot and great for plinking at ground hogs with. I sold the last one I had about 12 years ago when 30 carbine ammo started to get expensive. I never reloaded for it but I would think you could brew up some good handloads for it.

That scratch looks like it has been hit with a bluing pen. I see the SP engraved on the bottom of the grip frame, No wonder you wanted it back.[}:)]

Yep I've done it. Just brought a Blackhawk 357 yesterday (GB) after selling my previous 2. Just had to have another one.

Some men have married and divorced the same woman several times. I would say that your issue with a particular model of gun is the much easier and much cheaper way to go!

Bought one quite a few years ago, and wouldn't think of selling it.

ACK...Seller didn't mention he was going to give the gun to his dealer to ship so he wants $20 for transfer fee added to shipping cost. I think he should have explained that plan in the auction text.

He did state that 'Buyer pays a $20.00 transfer fee if required'. I guess I would have asked him what that meant, as he certainly couldn't know what a receiving FFL would charge.

Probably close to a wash, as he would have to go UPS or FedEx air, and the FFL can go regular USPS.

I would let him eat the $20 or take it out of the feedback.

I completely missed the mention of the $20. My fault. Yeah, probably works out about the same. It's $20, not the end of the world.

You got a good deal, Doc. I bid $475 on one with much less finish than yours. It went for 525 or 550 bucks; I can't remember now.
His ad is murky concerning the transfer fee. I would not be happy about that.
I took it to mean that if your FFL refused to accept the gun from a private individual then you would have to pay 20 bucks for his dealer to handle the shipping. I would go along with that.

Wish I had seen that auction.

I have one built in 1975, and it's my favorite wheel gun.

Put a Leopold LER scope on it.

Draws a lot of attention when firing from the 100 yard line.

    Just plain fun.

    Favorite load:
From Sierra Edition V, 30 Carbine Handgun section

    110 gr. round nose
    IMR 4227, 14.9 gr.
Trimmed to 1.285" (my cylinder's chamber length)
    OAL 1.690"
    Vel. 1400 fps

Yes, you need a 10 step program.

I have one just like it, very fun gun to shoot.

Now S&W needs to make an "N" frame 7 or 8 shot in .30 carbine.

I think back in the day they experimented with a "K" frame but it didn't work out.
