If you ever need to murder anybody, take them to Aruba.

On the other hand, if anybody offers you an all expense paid trip to Aruba, RUN!
The road to hell is paved with COMPROMISE.

Really? I rather enjoyed it. Mrs and I went for our anniversary a few years back. Awesome beaches, the locals did not bother the crap out of you on the beach. The ATM's handed out US$ everything was in English and priced in US$. We did an ATV tour of the backside of the island that took about all day and was a absolute blast. Wanted to go diving, but the Mrs had a bad ear infection. The hotel had a number of restaurants, the absolute best of which was one where they had about 10 tables for two set up out on the beach. Little jazz trio playing in the background. One waiter per table. Best sunset dinner I have ever had.

I would go back again in a minute.

Is this an upgrade from taking them to Mexico?
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

...On the way to St. Lucia, we had to stop in Aruba and go through customs. What little we saw from the air, it looked pretty bleak. Customs was a hassle, but nothing that a $20 bill wouldn't expedite. I still don't know why we had to stop there.
...I'm sure if we had stayed there for a week, I'd have liked it, but I'd go back to St. Lucia in a heartbeat. Mmmm, sounds like a good January plan...[;)]

Agreed, been there also for the touted great scuba and free-diving.

Have no plans of ever returning.

As everyone is well aware their legal-judicial system there is a farce.

The son of the local judge or majestrate is a preditor that trolled the casino there historically and he'd been in shady underhanded Piranha things previously.

There is a system of fleecing and victimizing tourists and then clouding everything IMHO.

Something about living in Florida takes away the desire to 'island hop.'

I have been most of the places mentioned at one time or the other, but have no plans to return.

Went there once; before Natali Holloway was kidnapped or killed. Will never return.

Real nice vacation spot, went there on my honeymoon two years ago and just went again two weeks ago. Very friendly staff anywhere you go on the island. The climate is real nice too with the trade wind.....its never sweltering hot. Love it[:D]
