So I went to seqouia(spelling) state park today with my dog. Now get this my dog is not allowed on any trails with or with out a leash. Some liberal tree huger park range said that he might disturb the animals and pointed out a squirl that was near by. This is after I past all the specail bear proof trash cans; I'm pretty sure smokey the bear is not on a leash or the moutain lions and what ever else is in the park. I just paid this commie state 2,000 dollars in taxes last year and I cannot go to the park with my dog unless he is in the parking lot or next to the road. My dog is not even big; he is a 35lb mutt. I don't think he is a threat to anything or anyone on a leash. Even if he was a huntin dog; if he is on a leash who cares. I don't even know why I pay taxes, it's not like they provide me with anything I need. The roads are crap, they can't seem to respond to a 911 call in under twenty min (it is a very small town; would take about 2min to cross from one side to the other with lights and sirens) oh yeah and I can't buy any cool guns; and if someone broke into my house I would have to go through hell in court to prove that is was legal for me to shoot that person. Why even bother with any dam political system in the government these days, none of it matters!!!!! Okay I am done venting just wanted blow off some steam.[:(!][:(!][:(!]

California... the only state in the Union with a border patrol that faces TOWARDS the United States... where possessing a semi-auto rifle with a pistol grip will send you to the state pen for ten years but where selling "medicinal" marijuana in wholesale quantities will get you a celebrity endorsement... where self-defense is defined as an act of aggression... and where despite taxing everyone and everything at least twice, the state is going broke.

    Gotta love it.

    WW2vet,

Yet somehow this state manages to turn out some of the most conservative politicians in the country... namely Nixon and Reagan.

I can find no good reason to even consider living in that state! No justification for not voting with my feet and getting the heck out... and little worry about the place falling off into the ocean during the next "bigg'en"

First where was my dog when this was going on? Did you leave him behind? If so the mountain lions were fairly safe.

I wonder if that was one of the 1000 laws Grey Davis managed to pass in his first term? Or do you think it was one of the 100 laws he tried to pass before he got booted?

By the way Ryan's dog is so vicious, I had some reloading stuff show up at the door, and the post office lady had to mace his dog! Couldn't hurt anything without a leash my *!!

I'm just giving him a hard time.

Sequoia NATIONAL Park is not controlled by the State of California. It is controlled by the Federal Government and those rules are created by the Park Service.

quote:The roads are crap, they can't seem to respond to a 911 call in under twenty min (it is a very small town; would take about 2min to cross from one side to the other with lights and sirens)

Many roads are maintained (or not maintained) by local governments. 911 service is also a function of local government. When you live in a small town and/or a small county, public works are often not funded very well. Not all of the roads in the state are crap. Most are well-maintained and well-designed.

As far as buying "cool guns", I buy as many guns as I can afford and they have all been cool. I certainly buy many more than someone who lives in Chicago or Washington DC could. California has many restrictions, but it is not the most restrictive place in the country.

As far as self-defense is concerned, why don't you cite one incident outside of LA or San Francisco where someone shot an intruder and was jailed for it? Even in the big cities, the right of self defense (not the defense of property) is recognized.

If you don't like living in California, why are you still here?

Ideas are far more powerful than guns. We don't let our people have guns. Why should we let them have ideas?

My Bad National park... Okay well how about I paid 7,000 dollars in federal taxes and I can't walk my dog in the dam park. I'm at work but I will research the jail thing for you; I'm sure there are a few. As for local town stuff I paid like 3or4 hundred in local tax so there goes your 911 theory. As for why I'm here; I was stationed here while in the Military and now have a decent paying job as contract maintence for the military. If I had a unlimited bank acount I would just pick up and leave but in the real world for me it's hard to do that and find another good job like I have now. The job market is'nt to great right now. As for the federal government my thoughts should not be voiced for fear of getting labled a terrorist and them throwing my in jail with out due process. Enough said on that.

Dave I had to spend the weekend with the inlaws and they were not cool with me bringing Jeager, he was only alone for one night and he did pretty good; he only brought in half of a tree and chewed it up. I guess it's better than a hole tree.

Oh yeah I forgot the roads thing, Have you been to L.A. recently? how about out in the country? Not much better. Did I mention that as Comunistfornians we pay crazy registation fees; were the hell is that money going? Okay I think I'm done now; at least for a while.

Went through Sequoia 2 yrs ago with the family, on our road trip to TX. I have a get in free card to all National parks, cause of my screwed up hand/arm. Good thing they don't ask about firearms at the gates.
When we were coming down outta the south entrance, just outside the park, a small doe ran out in front of my Bronco. I slam on the brakes and start skidding, and just bump the deer off its legs. My Daughter was in the front seat - and I swear she let out a scream that put me deaf in my right ear for a while. But I said look it's up - and it was standing behind my rig just lookin at us - that calmed her down a bit. We pulled over for the night at the next town.

That Doggie law has been there for years. How about Yosemite National Park with there own Police Dept. and speed traps in the park with radar guns? May sound harsh but thats what we pay them for. I don't go there to see trees carved up or graffiti spray painted on rocks.

Arnold just passed a bill that will triple entrance fees for the parks.

TIGER6..Thanks for thinking about us, we are just hoping for S.F. to fall off in the ocean!

NORMANDOG..I know of 2 cases in Clovis of intruder shooters going to jail, but were released after a hearing. Why do i still live here? Because i was born and raised here, and i intend to stay here until the lunatics that run this state are all back in their cages! Road conditions? My big rig pays $14,000 a year in taxes. I've driven all over the states, with the exception of some southern states, Calif. has some of the worse i've ever seen. Thank God for air ride suspension!

That's cool, he's following in my footsteps, as I never spend anytime with "the inlaws" myself...

MOA, don't get me wrong, there are many California-related frustrations that I experience everyday. I have lived in this state all of my life and I have been watching my beloved home deteriorate before my eyes since I have been aware enough to recognize it. I wanted to point out that some of your complaints were aimed at the wrong target.

Yes, I just got back from a trip to Mexico that involved a drive through LA. I have also driven in a couple of other states that boast about low tax rates and I have noticed the condition of their roads. Our roads are fine for the most part.

Mainly, I take issue with you characterizing California and Californians as communists. I don't know of any communist country where the people can elect their own leader and then throw them out so that they can elect another one![;)]

Now, you said yourself that you stay here because of the money you're making (7,000 in Fed Income Tax and 2,000 in State? You're not doing too badly!), that's good, isn't it? BTW, no matter how many tax dollars you pay to the locals, the 911 calls are still not funded by the state. If it takes so long to get emergency help, complain to the county Board of Supervisors.

Ideas are far more powerful than guns. We don't let our people have guns. Why should we let them have ideas?

I saw the trend and got out of Kalifornia in 1977. I've had to return on a number of occasions, and witnessed its' continuing decline.

It's truly a case of a great piece of ground being invaded by people looking to get away from the hell-holes (foreign and domestic) they've lived in, and wrecking the place.

I don't see any solution for the problems - ever.

Good to hear from you Doug, I e-mailed you about a week ago; just wondering if it got to you.

About the park thing FRANC you are right I also do not want to see our parks messed up but if we were all armed there would be a smaller number of people that would need to enforce laws.

As far as the roads see the reply of the man that drives them everyday. Trapp 55 I am in Lemoore it would be good to go When we do the Fresno shooting thing here.

I noticed no one had a problem with the federal government response; thats odd ther is usually one sheeple in the bunch.

Your kinda screwed if you bring a dog in the park. You can't bring it on the trails and aren't allowed to leave it unattended. I personally think it stinks but then again wouldn't want to be stepping on dog crap all over. Just get yourself a pet wolf. What are they gonna say??????????

I solved my problems with Kalif by leaving. Please don't wish for Kalif to fall into the ocean until I sell all of my property there. After that, who cares?

Illegal immigtation, and leftwing idiots are what if causing the downfall of the state. Just my opinion haveing been born and raised there. But it just became to much.

Also last I checked defending your home and family was still legal in Kalif. And that is not so in other states. So I suggest you might be worse off than you really are.
