I shot the M1 from Mark Christian

I hit two shots at 250 yards on the steel plate. I set the elevation at UP 8 clicks and hit the plate on shot two and six.

Now to do some serious work with it.

    Even with my glasses my max is probably 150 yards with iron sights.

    Remember that you can't hit the target by looking at the target. Your extreme concentration and focus must be on the front sight. This is a difficult concept to teach. I'm sure perry shooter will agree. I held a Navy range record at six hundred yds with a Navy Garand (7.62 NATO) for a while. First shot down range was an eight, then 19 x's and 10's. 198 6x Get yourself a shot book and keep it faithfully.

    I'm glad that you didn't waste any time getting it out to the range. Harrington and Richardson always had a reputation for making some of the best M1 barrels, and it looks like your results were good coming right out of the box.
