What are the differances between the two?

JBoss......Fear No Fish/peace through superior firepower/The gun manufacturers are not making a dangerous product.

    I think the M8A1 is a scabbard for the M7 (and M4), not a bayonet.

    Thats what I had thought too. But a guy has new M8 Bayonets over on the auction side for sale. Thats why I was asking. He may have a misprint on it. Thanks for your help.

    Jimmy, Dances is right. The M7 Bayonet is for the M16 style rifles. There isn't no M8 bayonet, but there is an M9 bayonet. That could be the one you seen.
