Several years ago I took a trip to Colorado Springs, and had a layover at DFW. Picked up a cap that said: "Texas...A Whole Other Country!" I believe it! And like it! [:D]

My co-host, who isn't any kind of a gun guy, keyed in immediately on that X-frame S&W. He didn't care about any of the other firearms, he just wanted to know what that "Big ol' pistol" was.

OK, I have to be the stick in the mud on this one.
I know it's just a picture, and I like the thought.
But I have a problem when it comes to "DRUNKS" with guns.

I too was a bit concerned about the drunks aspect, but I think the stereotype explanation works for me.
Just a joke... they're all smile/laughing, so it makes sense.

    Way to go!

How come the smallest guys always buy the biggest guns? I like the "drunks with guns" theme, it would certainly convince me. Drunks have about as much restraint as looters, so it only goes to reason that that neighborhood is off limits to looters. Great photo, nunn.

The two gentlemen on the right appear to be holding cans, although I can't tell if they are beer cans or pop cans. But they are also holding guns. If the sign is a humorous attempt at a warning to looters, and not meant literally, then that's fine. But if these guys are drinking alcohol and handling firearms, then that I have a BIG problem with. Leave your guns at home if you want to drink and have a good time. Guns carry with them a certain level of implied responsibility, if I had to choose between drinking tonight or carrying my gun, I'll choose the gun every day of the week and twice on Sunday. My personal protection is more important to me than "altering my senses" and slowing my response time and altering my good judgement by drinking alcohol.

Gun owners should hold themselves, and other gunowners, to the highest standards of personal conduct and responsibility. I really hope those are pop cans and not beer cans those two guys are holding, but I have my doubts. [V]

Evidently, they are not yet drunk enough.

Anyone else notice that the guy (blue shirt) with his arm on the telephone pole appears to have his weapon pointed directly at the camaraman?

Plenty to be proud of in Texans response to Hurricane. Not the least of which I did not see one Texan looking skyward waiting for a bottle of water and an MRE to land in front of them.

OK....OF COURSE it's supposed to be a JOKE. And IT IS.
Now if they would have put,
"REDNECKS with guns" on the sign.....Well......

Then again, considering that the fella on the right, second from the end, looks like he is going to shoot his arm, if not blow the guy on his left (sometimes) "perky" parts off. The next guy to the left is going to put a hole in his arm, and blow his friends kneecap off. Then the next guy in the white shirt and sunglasses is not going to feel good walking on a prosthetic instead of his foot. The tall guy in the red shirt is going to skip one into the camera man, which is better than the man on the left of the pole (who is going to get his hand blown off from the guy with the big pistol, holding up the sign) along with the second man to his right, who are both going to put one directly into the camera man. And lets not forget about the guy in the yellow shirt who is going to loose a kneecap, thanks to his friend next to him in the blue shirt. Since it is not perfectly clear, we will not talk about how many of them have their finger IN the trigger guard.

SORRY guys, even if YOU don't, I take gun safety SERIOUSLY.
I would not want to hang out with this group of drunks.
    Not even as a joke.

    The gene pool needs chlorine.

Yep it's a joke and funny as hell , but true in the some folks here handle situations like this. Since some of you are fraking out about gun safety , none of you noticed that one them has his finger on the trigger. I have a blown up copy , see if you can figure which one it is.....
